Kate Winslet purchased a large 15th century home in rural Sussex, England for $3.3 million (£2 million). She closed on the home in September 2012, just after marrying Ned Rocknroll and just prior to the birth of her third child ( A lot of attention has been given to the unusual last name of her spouse Ned, who happens to be the nephew of Sir Richard Branson (founder of Virgin Group). He changed his last name from Abel Smith to Rocknroll in 2008 to send a message that people should not take themselves too seriously.

The country home in which Kate, Ned, and the three children share is located within immaculately-preserved South Downs National Park. Kate Winslet’s country home in Sussex sits on 5.72 acres of beautiful rolling hills. There are amazing opportunities nearby for her and her family to bike on mountain trails and to go paragliding.
