Peyton Manning is an NFL football quarterback with an illustrious career. His skills and football stats are off the charts, and he shows no sign of slowing down. His move from the Indianapolis Colts to the Denver Broncos has exponentially increased his national and international fan base. He owns a beautiful home with every imaginable amenity. What more can a man ask for? Despite all of this, Manning maintains a down-to-earth and humble outlook on his life and his career.

Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning has stood above the pack since day one. Due to his incredible success at the University of Tennessee, as a young 22 year old quarterback, Manning attracted the attention of the Indianapolis Colts as the first draft pick in 1998. Right out of the gate, he consistently broke records as the Colts’ qb. Some of the records he broke hadn’t been touched for 10 years; in 2009, against the Houston Texans, he became the first quarterback to pass for over 40,000 yards in a decade. A big Super Bowl win in 2007 (2006 NFL season) against the Chicago Bears and all four of his MVPs were achieved during his time with the Colts: 2003, 2004, 2008, and 2009.

Peyton Manning Traded to Denver Broncos

After 14 seasons, from 1998 to 2011, the Indianapolis Colts let him go due to the stress he put on their salary cap and his absence during the entire 2011 season from a serious neck surgery (NY Daily News). After picking up the pieces, Manning moved on to the Denver Broncos to continue on as #18, with a five-year, $96 million dollar contract on March 20, 2012 – a mere 13 days after being released by the Colts. He has only been a part of two NFL organizations, both in the American Football Conference (AFC). He has often been heard saying that he loves being in the AFC, and actually prefers it.

Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl

With the Colts, Manning achieved legendary greatness; with the Broncos, he’s on his way to going supernova with a record first season and a third trip to Super Bowl, showing he still has a lot left in him. On August 9, 2012, Manning played his first game as a Bronco in a preseason game against the Chicago Bears – then led the already strong team all the way to AFC champs versus New England Patriots (Jan. 19, 2014) and to Super Bowl XLVIII (Feb. 2, 2014). After evaluating regular season stats, Bleacher Report points out that Manning’s 2013-14 ‘first season’ with the Broncos tops Tom Brady’s 2007-08 season. The stats don’t lie; Manning scored 55 touchdowns, compared to Brady’s 50, and ran 5,477 passing yards, compared to Brady’s 4,806. Bleacher Report predicts that Manning will get his NFL-record fifth MVP award on the Saturday night before the Super Bowl game, and join New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as the only unanimous MVP winners in league history. There has been a lot of great press hailing the Broncos as the best team and Manning as the best quarterback in the NFL. Judy Battista of NFL.com has generously called Manning’s first year with the Broncos a “transcendent season.”

Peyton Manning House Denver CO

With a five-year, $96 million dollar contract in hand, it didn’t take Peyton Manning very long to find a $4.575 million Georgian style mansion in Denver, Colorado to call home sweet home. He purchased a 16,464-square-foot home with seven-bedrooms, 10-baths, and more bonus rooms than you can count on one hand. The lavish home includes a family room, a billiards room, an exercise room, a theater room, a wine cellar, a ‘panic’ room, a home office with a large desk surrounded by paneled walls and custom built-ins, 7-car heated garage, and an attached dog room with indoor/outdoor heated kennel (Mountain Living). The home also features an elevator and his-and-hers walk-in closets with custom cherry wood built-ins and center islands. Keep in mind; most of these bonus rooms are likely bigger than the average NYC apartment. Many of the rooms in the Manning home have fireplaces and heated floors to keep the Denver Broncos’ star quarterback, his wife Ashley Thompson, and two twin daughters cozy while living in chilly Colorado. The home’s driveway passes through a gated entrance with wrought-iron fence. It sits on 3.37 acres of well-manicured grounds with mature trees and gardens, a veranda, and patio with a built-in grill. The home is located within the Cherry Hills Village suburb, only 10 miles from the Bronco’s Dove Valley headquarters (UK Daily Mail). The decor of the home is tastefully decorated in a traditional style. Peyton Manning also owns a condo in South Beach, Florida to allow him and his family to get away during off season.

Ideal Peyton Manning Home

I can see Peyton Manning loving any one of the expansive, Georgian style homes in Towson, Maryland. The college town in Baltimore County, about an hour away from downtown Baltimore, has rich history in athletics. Manning’s home in Towson should be a meticulously restored historic manor home with a grand entrance hall. It needs crown molding, fireplaces, and wood floors throughout, and at least seven bedrooms and baths, a gourmet kitchen, an exercise room, and a media room.
